“Life is a grindstone. Whether it grinds you down or polishes you up, depends upon what you’re made of.” -Jody Banks
She’s talented, sexy, and edgy. Her sophistication can be better glimpsed in the way she handles business than the way she walks out onto a stage. Yet, when she grabs the mic, restless crowds immediately erupts with cheer. She is no...

Oprah has been ordered to stand trial for the defamation case against her by the former headmistress of Winfrey's South Africa-based Leadership Academy of Girls.

Tiger Woods has decided to make his comeback to the only real "game" he has: Golf. Here's what Woods had to say about his return:
"The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta.

In a perfect world everyone could read minds and know what the opposite sex thinks & feels. Since a perfect world isn't in the near future, here's a list the top 10 things that men want women to know.

When some can’t let sleeping dogs lie, then more important issues will never receive the proper attention, nor will the proper punishment never get handed out. When a man serves his debt to society he is exonerated, God is a God of forgiveness. Man is a man of imperfection; but to condemn a man, and not another or others…pardon the pun...is a doggone shame.
YES, what Mike Vick and his crew did has inhumane, and wrong; Yes it is apart / was a part of their culture; Yes it...

Recently I was listening to my boyfriend and his friends discuss the reasons why some of them prefer White women over Black women. Many of their reasons were purely based on superficial factors, which bothered me. It is one thing to date someone because you like them as a person and could care less about their skin color which is perfectly fine. It is another thing to purposely seek a particular race for frivolous reasoning. I know that this topic has been discussed over and over but I do not...

SWV was well known in the 90’s as the hit R&B trio that rocked the airways and concerts from coast to coast. The group, which included Coko, Lelee and Taj, disbanded in 1999 to pursue solo projects. Fast-forward to 2010 and they are back in the studio to make what some believe to be the comeback of the century.
Yet how welcoming will the industry be to a group that already had...

A vital piece of any successful relationship is the ability to express your heart's desires, even the ones that might not be quite as mainstream, and to have those wishes be met with an open mind.
But, as in the below question, how fine is the line between different and disasterous?

Melvin Jackson Jr. just may be the biggest name set to hit Hollywood that you haven’t heard of…yet. Ladies, I want to pose a question to you. We are all grown (at least I hope so) and we all have sex (well possibly all). My questions is, does size really matter? I can speak from my point of view and give a resounding Hell Yes It Matters, but that is just me. Other women may not require a big stick. For them the simple things might be sufficient. The holding, touching, squeezing, licking, sucking etc.. You get my point. For some women, sex is not that big of a deal and they focus more on the...

The dichotomy of the black family ranges now from the traditional two parent household all the way to the single parent home...

Critics & fans of Pryor are skeptical of Marlon Wayans taking on a role of such a complex man, especially when many Wayans previous roles have been more on the “stupid” funny side of comedy. Yet what many fail to realize is that...

Whoa! If I knew then what I know now, boy would my life be different! How many times as a woman, have you said this? I am still fairly young and even I have said this numerous times in my life. If there was a giant clock to turn back the hands of time, I would change so many things and although I am happy, some aspects of my life would be different. With that being said, I want you to read the list of things I wish I had learned before 30. I then want you to spread the love and pass on some...

How many of you can honestly say that you possess duality? That you have the ability to mold yourself to any environment? That you can still be yourself at your core and feel comfortable in any environment because of your inner acceptance of the complexities that are you? I can. I am proud to say that I am from the West side of Chicago and it is a dynamic to my personality. I also graduated from De Paul University and that too has helped to mold me. I am proud to say that although I live in...
